Who is the Hydrating cleanser best for?
It is formulated for normal-to-dry and sensitive skin. With a non-foaming texture, it cleanses without stripping, which makes it a favorite for dry, mature, or reactive skin. If you have very oily or acne-prone skin, the
Foaming version may suit you better. -
Why doesn't it foam, and does that mean it's cleaning?
It is designed not to foam as foaming surfactants are what tend to leave skin even tighter on dry skin. The lotion-like texture still lifts away dirt, and oil.
If you are wearing heavy or waterproof makeup, you may want to use a dedicated makeup remover or CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Water first, followed by the Hydrating Facial Cleanser to ensure your skin is completely clean and refreshed. -
Should I use the Foaming or the Hydrating version?
Choose based on how your skin feels. Oily, combination, or breakout-prone skin generally does better with the Foaming ; dry, sensitive, or mature skin tends to prefer the Hydrating Cleanser. -
Where does it fit in my routine?
Cleanser is your first step. Use it morning and night before serums, treatments, and moisturizer. In the evening, if you wear makeup or sunscreen, include a make-up remover or micellar as a first step to break down product, then the Hydrating cleanser to clean the skin underneath. -
How much should I use, and do I need a cleansing brush?
Pump it once and lather it into wet skin with your fingertips for about 20 seconds is plenty. A cleansing brush or washcloth is not necessary and can be too abrasive for daily use. Rinse with lukewarm water as hot water can leave skin feeling tight. -
